About The Role

So you want to be a Compositor?

Are you passionate about animation and visual effects? Do you want to gain hands-on experience in a creative and fast-paced environment? Qvisten Animation is excited to present the opportunity to join our talented Houdini Lighting team through our internship program spring 2026!

We can offer in-house seating with our lighting team and mentoring by one of our senior Light Supervisor. You will be part of dailies, director reviews and access to production software and pipelines. Full-time or part-time options, in collaboration with educational institutions.
 

As a 3D Lighting Artist, you set up the lighting of fully cg animated shots and sequences, with the intention of achieving the visual mood and style set forth by the director. You are also responsible for following up the rendering of your own shots. The 3D Lighting Intern reports to the Light Supervisor.

 
Responsibilities
  • Creatively light and render all the elements in an animated scene, ensuring that the established style of the project is respected and shot continuity is maintained
  • Produce well under pressure, work in short timeframes, manage time and schedules efficiently while maintaining a high level of quality

Expectations

  • Currently pursuing a degree/diploma in VFX, Animation, Media Arts, or related field

  • Eagerness to learn and take direction, as well as contribute creatively

  • Strong interest and understanding of the classic principles of light and color.

  • Familiarity with Houdini (experience with others like Maya is a plus)

  • A keen eye for detail and aesthetics

  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

About You

  • You are enrolled in an educational program for the current school year

  • You are able to join us in-house at our Oslo offices

  • You are able to set off a total of minimum 60 working days in the period from January until summer either full time or part time.

  • You have a passion for VFX / Animation and Storytelling

  • You are hard-working and have ambitions to create a career in the industry
