About The Role

We are looking for a supervisor who can follow a low-budget feature production from start to finish, acting as CG supervisor in the crucial start-up phase, and taking on more of a shot TD-role as the project moves into shot production. 
 
The CG Supervisor will plan the project in terms of technical feasibility, together with Line Producer, director and the other supervisors.

The CG Supervisor will be the main point of contact with the pipeline department, and work closely with them to make sure the project has the tools needed to reach its creative objectives, timeframe and budget.
 
Throughout, the CG sup makes sure that all departments adhere to the technical specifications of the project, including:
  • Correct asset setup for the pipeline
  • Correct anim file setup
  • Functioning publishing routines from animation to light (Houdini)
  • Overview of render capacity, issues and progress
Responsibilities
  • Create a realistic breakdown of the project, in collaboration with line producer and other supervisors
  • Create a flow chart for the production and maintain clear documentation for technical specifications, workflows, guidelines and best practices.
  • Work closely with supervisors to identify and address challenges. 
  • Participate in weekly pipeline meetings, reporting the project’s needs and raising issues and making sure the production team has the tools needed.
  • Tracking progress, notes and statuses during shot production, avoiding crunches and bottlenecks.
  • Perform mid mortems and post mortems with the department heads, and present the feedback to the Line Producer with suggestions for improvements or solutions when needed.

About You

Skills and requirements
  • 5 years or more professional experience 
  • Experienced in Houdini, MaterialX and Karma render
  • Experienced in Maya
  • A passion for animation
  • An ability to explore and play with artistic styles
  • Technical and creative problem solving skills
  • Interest in new technology and tools
  • Motivated team player with great communication skills
Pluses
  • Knowledge of Python, with an ability to assist in tool/pipeline R&D development helpful but not required.
  • Experience from Look dev/surfacing, light or render and willingness to produce output in their field when time allows
  • Candidates able to work inhouse at our studios will be prioritised
