About The Role

Are you passionate about visual storytelling? Do you want to be part of an enthusiastic team that loves animation? Qvisten Animation is seeking talented Storyboard Artists to bring our latest feature animation project to life. Please get in touch!

Estimated length of contract is three months, with startup in December 2024. Opportunity for both remote and inhouse work, and additional storyboard revisions during spring/summer 2025.
 
As a Storyboard Artist at Qvisten Animation, you will collaborate closely with the director, storyboard supervisor and the storyboard team to visually translate the script into dynamic, engaging storyboards. Your work will serve as the blueprint for the production, helping define the narrative flow, pace and mood of the film. Your primary task will be to create storyboards that effectively outline the sequence of scenes, illustrating key scenes, camera angles, character actions and emotional beats.

Responsibilty:
  • Develop compelling storyboards: Translate scripts into visually engaging sequences and, based on feedback, make necessary iterations to improve the storytelling.
  • Ensure continuity and narrative flow: Maintain consistency in tone, pace and character actions.
  • Creative problem-solving: Proactively address story, design or timing challenges.
  • Maintain production deadlines: Manage your workload efficiently to meet tight production schedules without compromising quality.

About You

  • Proven experience in storyboarding for feature films, TV, or similar projects within the animation industry.
  • Strong drawing skills with a clear understanding of anatomy, perspective, and cinematography.
  • Solid knowledge of film language: Understanding of camera angles, shot composition, continuity, and visual storytelling.
  • Proficiency with storyboard software (e.g. Storyboard Pro)
  • Communication and organisation: Ability to collaborate with team members across departments, take direction and work in an organised manner.
  • Adaptability: Able to adjust to changes in production and creative direction. 
  • Passion for animation: A genuine love for the medium, and desire to push the boundaries of storytelling. ❤❤❤
Pluses:
  • Experience with 3D animation software or pre-visualization is a plus.
  • Background in character design or visual development is a bonus.
